Christmas Me No Christmas
Christmas Me No Christmas Until my heart’s at peace, ‘Til the murders and the bombings And napalmings cease; While the vegetation’s dying, And the motherless are crying, And the bodycounts are vying In he daily press release.
Christmas me no Christmas While my land is rife With contention and dissension And violent racial strife, Malnutrition and suspicion, And the loss of sense of mission, While the cop-outs and the drop-outs Waste the precious gift of life.
Christmas me no Christmas Until you come to me in love, And you sit with me in silence For That of God to move, And we search our souls for guidance, And we set aside our greed, And we learn to feel compassion For the hunger and the need, And the loneliness around us, The panic and the fear, And we become more humble And our friends become more dear, Our barriers more fragile, And our vision grows more clear.
Is it too late to change it, To live “Good Will to Men”? There’s still a chance for Christmas To speak to us again!
